Falcon's name changing to Vallen

EDIT: Alright, so... I've thought long and hard about this, discussed it with everyone who voted, etc. etc... and I think I've made the decision to change the name to Vallen.

However, I have no problems with keeping 'Falcon' as a nickname. For those of you who love the name so dearly, I have no objections with you still calling him that. However, me using the nickname in the games isn't likely to happen often. I hope no one has any issues with that.

I'm fairly confident that--judging by the responses I've gotten--everyone will be happy with this situation, or at least will understand and be able to tolerate it. ^_^; I know it will take a while to get used to the name change. I still haven't completely wrapped my mind around the name 'Vallen' myself.

But anyway, unless anyone has any major objections, I'll probably make it official sometime by the end of the week. Meaning I'll go through my scripts and whatnot, changing the name for good. I'll also likely change the URL of his chibi, so expect to see some broken images here and there.

So most of you should know by now that one of the characters from Venustus Decus is named 'Falcon Hawkeye.' If you don't, that's this guy.

But anyway, every now and then it hits me just how silly that name is. I thought it up way way back in the early stages of the game's planning, and now that I'm older and have thought about the plot more... well, it doesn't really fit. And even the little reasoning I try to come up with is really shoddy.

So yeah. You think I should change his name to something a little more... name-like? If you vote yes, then name suggestions are welcome, as I haven't come up with much yet. If you vote no, I'd like to hear your reasoning, if possible.

Hm. Well, I'm rather used to the name by now. But if the name doesn't really fit the character, then if you'd like to change it, I doubt anyone would mind- 'fact, I'd love throwing names out there.

Well, it's not so much that it doesn't fit the character as it doesn't fit the story in general. XD; With everyone else in the entire series having more regular names, it err. Sorta stands out.

Hmm. I suppose it does have sort of a 'rebelling from the norm' feel to it. *dilemma*

If you feel that this character's name doesn't fit in with the rest of his series, and you're even considering changing it, I say that might be the indication that you really do want to change it, and probably should.

Else the reasons why you want to change it will just constantly bother you. XD

Hmm, yeah. Another good point.

The thing about changing his name is that it's hard coming up with a good replacement. ^_^; I'm sort of leaning toward Ferrell at the moment... or possibly Fien? *flips through name book*

EDIT: You know, I kinda laughed at it when I first saw it, but after thinking about it for a while, I'm actually rather fond of Falke. It's actually the German word for falcon ('cause I'm lazy that way), but it sounds enough like a name that I could justify it. It's also entirely plausible to use Falcon as a nickname for anyone who's particularly attached to that name still.

EDIT: On second thought, I don't like that one. How about Vallen?

Well, it's official now. Just went through most of my writings and such, changing his name to Vallen. I even changed the name of his chibi, and took the opportunity to tweak his hair a little.

So now my name is Vallen. Here's the part where she rewires her characters' memories so that has always been my name. >_>

Except that us fourth wallers will forever remember that name and probably have a hard time not calling you as such. <3 But we love you anyway.
